Mohammed Ayoob on Palestine, Israel and United States
Professor Mohammed Ayoob, professor of political Science and Coordinator of the Muslim Studies Program at Michigan State University, has recently published a Policy Brief 53 for the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU). The policy brief is titled “Palestine, Israel and the United States: Reframing the Dominant Narrative” and in it Professor Ayoob outlines some of major forces conditioning the US narrative on Israel and Palestine. He notes: “By accepting the Israeli narrative hook, line, and sinker, the United States has become complicit in Israeli violations of international law, which explicitly forbids demographic transformations in occupied lands. In addition, it is rendering itself irrelevant as far as finding a just and durable solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict
is concerned.”
